Who I am

Born and raised in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley, I grew up in a home with an emphasis on education and individualism. Active throughout my childhood, my fondest memories are my time spent skateboarding. Although there is a uniform within this culture, there is also the need to standout and be unique. Given LA’s strong presence within streetwear, I gravitated towards local brands to express myself through my clothes as best as I could. This would eventually lead to me exploring the internet where I would obsessively consume and learn about brands all over the world, expanding my horizons. These core moments are what drew me to the apparel industry.

My family’s culture of engineering, and the talents that are likely a combination of my genetics and my environment, pushed me to discover technical design and pattern making. A world within the landscape that interests me so heavily, technical design has unequivocally opened my eyes to the importance of balancing function with form. In my work under Studio Recluse, you can see that no detail was wasted. The seams chosen, the fabrics selected, and the silhouettes decided on were done so with intention.

This has been my design philosophy since, Do Nothing Without Intention.
